KANNAPOLIS - A house fire Thursday left a tenant homeless and fire officials suspicious of the cause. Resident Twiggie Bell said she saw electrical sparks land on a mattress in a bedroom.

Arson crews investigate fire at empty townhome
Firefighters were called out to a townhome on United and Beltway 8 overnight. Once inside they quickly worked to put out the flames coming from a mattress burning in the bedroom.
