MILWAUKEE A report from Milwaukee child-welfare officials conflicts with a medical examiners report following the death of a 6-month old. The body of Dekia Mattox was found Saturday stuffed under a mattress in her home. A 36-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged in her death.
Select Comfort is accused of underpaying commissions
A former salesman for Select Comfort Corp. has sued the company, accusing the Plymouth-based mattress maker of running a defective commission tracking system that shortchanged sales staff for years. Troy Taylor, 38, of Princeton, Minn., filed the lawsuit Thursday in Hennepin County District Court.
Alleged Arsonist Arrested in Carson City
A Carson City man has been arrested on suspicion of felony arson after he reportedly lit his own mattress on fire. David Beckman, 45, was arrested on Saturday. Sheriff's deputies say he pushed his wife into a television then started the fire in their apartment at the Sierra Madre Apartments.
Opportunity to see a mattress being made
Jordan Bedding, a family owned mattress factory selling directly to the public, opened its Hot Springs site in 1981. The Jordan family says its products are known throughout the area for quality mattresses.
