Flat fire was ‘act of defence’
A MAN who set fire to a mattress and beanbag in his flat claimed he was protecting himself from a gang armed with a sword.

Police in Bristol have condemned a driver who's been caught on camera driving onto a motorway with a mattress balanced on the roof of his car. A passenger in another vehicle took the pictures - the driver was actually holding on to the mattress with one hand as he approached the M5 near the city.
