9 homeless in apartment-house fire
Nine people were left homeless and one was injured after a fire that residents said started in a mattress spread through a Middletown apartment house early yesterday.

Fire that killed 3 children called accidental
Sidney, Ohio- A house fire that killed three children was caused accidentally by a boy playing with a lighter, authorities said Wednesday. The 9-year-old boy was playing in a bedroom inside a makeshift fort of a mattress and bedsheets, Fire Chief Stan Crosley said.
Culp to Close Polypropylene Yarn Plant
Culp Inc., a maker of mattress and upholstery fabrics, on Tuesday said it plans to close its polypropylene yarn extrusion operations and has agreed to sell the related equipment to American Fibers and Yarns Co. for $1.1 million.
