Students should donate items to less fortunate
Instead of walking to the dumpster to throw out that futon mattress, half a bottle of laundry detergent, left-over ramen noodle cups or clothes that don't fit anymore, put them into a box at a residence hall for people in need to use it. "When You Move Out, Don't Throw It Out," is a program that started in the spring of 2002, sponsored by the Office of Residence Life.

A 2006 survey of more than 1,500 adults by The National Sleep Foundation shows that 23 percent of U.S. couples sleep apart because of snoring and other sleep-related problems. And for the other 77 percent, their noisy bedmate robs them of 49 minutes of sleep.
